Goran Visnjic is a Croatian actor. He plays Nicholae Schiller on Red Widow. Visnjic is best known for his leading role of Dr. Luka Kovac on ER but has also had smaller roles in Pan Am and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Career[]

Before being offered a cast for the lead role for ER, Visnjic had small roles in films such as The Peacemaker, Committed and Practical Magic. In 1998 was spotted and asked by Madonna to act in her music video The Power of Goodbye. His acting in the role of Risto, a Bosnian driver in Welcome to Sarajevo was good enough sign for the producer Jack Orman to offer him a role as a doctor to replace the departing George Clooney in the sixth season of ER. As a result of this, in 1999, Visnjic become the show's male lead by season 11. By season 14, he made a limited number of appearances before leaving the show early in season 15.

While starring on ER, Visnjic worked on other projects as it was the British film Close Your Eyes, alongside Shirley Henderson and Miranda Otto. He co-starred in The Deep End; had a voice role in Ice Age, and starred in Posljednja volja and Doctor Sleep. In 2004, he starred in the television miniseries Spartacus and in Elektra together with Jennifer Garner.

Personal Life[]

Visnjic has been active in the American and European animal rights movements, and appeared in PETA's first Eastern European anti-fur campaign. He is married to Eva Visnjic, who is an artist and sculptor, and daughter of film director Antun Vrdoljak. The couple has two adopted children — son Tin and daughter Vivien Sofia - and one biological son Vigo. They live in Los Angeles, California.
